<br />
I ordered me some new clothes from Old Navy and Woman Within, I love the length of their tops.<br />
I've tried Walmart but they just don't have the length and I am completely self conscious about my tummy hump.<br />
<br />
The first post is some of the clothes from Old Navy. This outfit was COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone for many reasons. First, it's a tank top. Second, it's a patterned floral, well technically I think that's two things. Thirdly, the shorts are HOT PINK. <br />
<br />
First, the no sleeves thing, I'm a big girl and with that comes big upper arms which I normally hide with sleeves. <br />
<br />
Second, floral and patterned, reference the big girl thing above and you HAVE to be careful with florals. You don't want to look like you're wearing your grandma's moomoo. Depending on the type of pattern, the busyness of pattern and the amount of fabric needed for the size it can be overwhelming like your grandma's moomoo. <br />
<br />
Thirdly, the HOT PINK shorts, enough said. I normally wear dark colored or neutral bottoms, helps camouflage the bum. <br />
<br />
I love Cassie over at <a href="http://www.hisugarplumsblog.com/" target="_blank">Hi Sugarplum</a>, and her fashion sense, so I decided to take the plunge. I thought, 'what the heck? I can always return it.' So I ordered enough for free shipping, I mean seriously that's like an extra shirt on clearance, why wouldn't I order enough for free shipping. <br />
<br />
I love it! I think the secret is to get medium sized florals with a neutral background, it's not too busy and isn't competing with itself. The hot pink shorts are really what surprised me. I really thought I'd be returning them, but it's almost a neutral in itself being one whole solid color!<br />

<br />
So to continue on with the Kitchen Spruce Up, I knew I wanted a back splash (other than the 3" lip of the formica counter tops). Andrea over at <a href="http://www.queenbandme.com/" target="_blank">Queen B & Me</a> gave me this idea many moons ago (this momma is a gem of shabby chic decorating you must check her out!). So for years now I've been on the look out for AFFORDABLE architectural salvage tin, umm, yea Shell I don't think those words go together AT ALL. But I finally hit the jack pot at a shop in Galveston I always frequent when we are there, $3 per tin! I really wanted thirty six pieces for the future "big update" but they only had enough for twenty one, so I'll figure out something when that time comes. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifNuLltiitgrbpgQ9ouQQX3GbQ0bWpaMD_DeM8VKJO3QNShyicHrQqY6yIzXAl6gqCksAXJ3m5cdVlmC7H41XrOk6qjsJ_5r2vw2xGOH3DusMPMbSm1G-dNWpMjzQtQcYiJqA4VVT1tRPt/s1600/backsplash.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifNuLltiitgrbpgQ9ouQQX3GbQ0bWpaMD_DeM8VKJO3QNShyicHrQqY6yIzXAl6gqCksAXJ3m5cdVlmC7H41XrOk6qjsJ_5r2vw2xGOH3DusMPMbSm1G-dNWpMjzQtQcYiJqA4VVT1tRPt/s320/backsplash.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
All I'm going to do is wipe it down, clear coat it and then we'll attach them to the wall. As I posted on my Instagram I love the rust and patina #rusthasmyheart LOL!<br />
<br />
I never really thought I would be able to find the tins without using majority of my budget for them. After the paint job, I knew something would have to be nixed as it was more expensive than I thought. But thanks to my new found patience and not jumping the gun for a "it'll work for now" back splash I was able to get these beautifies. I just wish I knew their stories. <br />
<br />
Now how long will it take us to get them up? #procrastinators<br />
<br />
Much Luv!<br />

<br />
On Mondays I'm going to post about something that goes with beauty, hence the name Beautiful Mondays.<br />
<br />
This week is manicures, Mani Monday! I do my own manicures, don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love to have professional manicures done. But two things always stop me, money and time. The money because around here it's a $20 bill for the very basic of any manicures. You can forget shellac for that, shellacs go for the same price as a set of acrylic nails. I just can't bring myself to pay that every week, and yes I am that hard on my nails. And time, we all run short on time, but it's the same reason I quit getting fake nails and my eyebrows waxed. It's never quick, there is the wait time at the salon and then the time to do it.<br />
<br />
I pretty much just want color and I found an awesome set that takes about ten minutes to complete. I love love LOVE Fuse GelNamel, I believe that Sally Hansen, maker of SensatioNAIL makes it, but not positive. The whole starter kit, a color, cleaner, wipes AND light, is around $15 (Walmart is the cheapest but Walgreens is a close runner up). You can also get loads of different colors for around $10 per bottle. If you're a person that loves a color and will wear it until the bottle is empty than you could get away with a bottle per year. I'm also really lazy when it comes to application, my criteria, a few steps as possible, this fit the bill. There are three steps from beginning to end, while most others had three steps just for polish alone, naw, momma ain't down for that! You prep your nail bed, polish and light cure, bam done with that nail! I can seriously do my whole manicure in about ten minutes, I prep the next nail while the previous one is light curing allowing no down time. <br />
<br />
These last me about a week maybe a little less, but again I am VERY hard on my nails. I do computer work all day, come home and do more computer stuff personally, cook and clean dinner, all that good stuff. But in all actuality I've researched the other ones that are at a minimum more than double the price and the reviews all state they last about a week also. I've got six colors and just decided to play around a bit. Tell me what you think about my mani - usually I'm just a plain all nails one color gal.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj52R_ucAsxfKvtd-_suYviAUv36gIqYe-W9qYqw3y2ZQ2BQCYfybJ007AbCSWLA7mma6NiZ7b7W5QLOw0gRSmWtuNH2TTh7D6IzobF-eW68W8zx8SAb-H9Y1weTGwL_e1jHhVi_MiJz_3u/s1600/3-2-15mani.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj52R_ucAsxfKvtd-_suYviAUv36gIqYe-W9qYqw3y2ZQ2BQCYfybJ007AbCSWLA7mma6NiZ7b7W5QLOw0gRSmWtuNH2TTh7D6IzobF-eW68W8zx8SAb-H9Y1weTGwL_e1jHhVi_MiJz_3u/s1600/3-2-15mani.JPG" /></a></div>
<br />
So what do you think? I'm actually really digging it, which surprises me. <br />
<br />
Next Monday will be waxing your own facial hair. Oh yea, I'm going there!<br />
<br />
See you on Wednesday!<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />

<br />
I had been staying out of the thrift/vintage/antique stores lately because we've been remodeling a TON, and all funds have been going to that. Although it was tuff at times I look at my kitchen and entertainment center and it's totally worth it.<br />
<br />
BBBBUUUUTTT, for Christmas I got some money so I decided to treat myself. I usually pay bills that come up or redo something else. Plus my aunts were in town and they love thrift stores as much as I do, so it didn't take much arm twisting. Here's what I found:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwFzyF1r2pQVQGcnga4CN-xREJpxkZR_yoT7uNpagx319jpUf0UUD9ac44-j0wjHqpym6F2lo1NrGPBbSISzvMxP2i8XdTfhh3HAXBqjx4Ly6ZrRUjnMVS_yvcAYr7qq-K1eIGtgMnxUUc/s1600/vintage+finds.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwFzyF1r2pQVQGcnga4CN-xREJpxkZR_yoT7uNpagx319jpUf0UUD9ac44-j0wjHqpym6F2lo1NrGPBbSISzvMxP2i8XdTfhh3HAXBqjx4Ly6ZrRUjnMVS_yvcAYr7qq-K1eIGtgMnxUUc/s1600/vintage+finds.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div align="center">
This is not all the finds but my most favorite ones.</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPKnA1x2-WUgEmMhy1dsN93POjzX3wvxffnid7Kl6uDmzfIXrwPz-3gFNxtqHpRg8MfEpUyUXJ6IsGMkXpjFaLzA5Tex4CSUO478avoExmL-JFeUQRQ4_K6cNzaEEjoN6HxHeYr0LfdGdj/s1600/staged+finds.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPKnA1x2-WUgEmMhy1dsN93POjzX3wvxffnid7Kl6uDmzfIXrwPz-3gFNxtqHpRg8MfEpUyUXJ6IsGMkXpjFaLzA5Tex4CSUO478avoExmL-JFeUQRQ4_K6cNzaEEjoN6HxHeYr0LfdGdj/s1600/staged+finds.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And here they are staged</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The top picture is probably 85% of what I found. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The frog is for the last stain glass I need for my kitchenette windows (which I changed the curtains for those again - more to come later). When I was preggers with Buckeroo he would sit like a frog facing out. Little dude did that for the last month of my pregnancy, so long that when he was born and we would put him to sleep his little legs would pull up just like a frog's legs would. Hence his nickname, Frogman, and my first (of eleven tattoos) is a frog (yes I was 29 before I got my first tat). It's actually plastic beads melted that one could do in their oven but I don't care, details smetails - it's a frog. It was a whopping $.50, lol!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The glass globey thingy (yea I'm pretty technical, ha!) I've always wanted one but when they first came out they were too expensive but this baby was $1. I've always wanted a terrium, I now have one, it is just lacking the baby dino that Cor is willing to part with for a little something extra.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The green bottle is just really a pretty cool bottle that I couldn't put back when she told me it was $3. It's from about the mid to late 70's (I'm thinking), one side says juice the other says water. I really think it will be an awesome flower vase, but until I get some flowers it looks pretty nice as is.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The celluloid grapes, of how I love thee, let me count thy ways. Yes, I know total 60-70's, I just need some shag carpet, velvet drapes and a swag light. ok, this baby was NO thrifty find it falls under the vintage category. I almost didn't get it due to the price BUT they had a 20% off sale so it ended up being $28. I picked it up and put it down, gosh a dozen times, but y'all it has all the colors of my fabric for the dining room roman shades (yeah, y'all don't know about those either, however I didn't take a picture of the fabric before giving it to my seamstress). Truly it's fabu y'all and I'm telling you it makes me smile every time I pass them, which is a lot since it's in the dining. Since I got rid of the eat in kitchenette it's the only eating place and I have to walk through there to go to the stairs to go to bed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The little wine glasses are hard to see but they have the same gold wheat pattern that my dishes have that my mother in law gave me that was her wedding china (yes I use the 'good china' every day). It's hard to find that pattern so when I do find pieces I snatch them up, these were $2 for the pair. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The rest was some miniature ornaments for the Christmas tree in my office, some things for my parents that could host as Mr. & Mrs. Claus' house they decorate so amazingly (yes I am biased but everyone tells me that). A cute Avon cologne bottle that looks like a Christmas tree, a rose pattern ornament, and a BRAND NEW pair of Bob's iridescent sparkle shoes (so excited!). The total came to about $50, which is more than I would normally put in as thrifty but I found some great deals!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Dagmar over at <a href="http://www.dagmarbleasdale.com/" target="_blank">Dagmar's Home</a> is have a <a href="http://www.dagmarbleasdale.com/2015/01/thrifty-vintage-finds-link-party-50/" target="_blank">"Thrifty and Vintage Link up"</a> party and I'm going over to party it up, you should come over and see some of the great stuff there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Much Luv,</div>

<br />
Every year our PTO has a cookie exchange. This will be my first year to participate in it and I took some liberty to stretch what "Cookie Exchange" meant. Cookie - Candy - they're both sweet and desserts so I decided to go with candy. I found an awesomely easy <a href="http://www.yourhomebasedmom.com/homemade-soft-caramels/" target="_blank">soft chew caramel candy recipe</a> from Your Homebased Mom. It was wonderfully easy and people that don't even care for caramel said that it was awesome and delicious. I've never made any candy in my life, much less caramel. I will say patience, patience and more patience - oh! and definitely a heavy gauge pan, mine started to scorch before I could get to 243 degrees but it still set up wonderfully. Here is the finished product:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTwAM1v5fkubSjon2by_UTyG6EFsC2RQvqybxIudcB21Ld4GR7TdapIkrmJuZqtjjp4ZpjDigIKFACuN3cjP9A2oih4PXavVEqwK6UxRxR3aUh_oDZ0turTabUIEdj1YEi33lHxMym1nY7/s1600/caramel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTwAM1v5fkubSjon2by_UTyG6EFsC2RQvqybxIudcB21Ld4GR7TdapIkrmJuZqtjjp4ZpjDigIKFACuN3cjP9A2oih4PXavVEqwK6UxRxR3aUh_oDZ0turTabUIEdj1YEi33lHxMym1nY7/s1600/caramel.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I doubled the recipe to make sure I had enough for the exchange for generous portions and my hubby is the "Caramel Monster". I ended up with 133 pieces, although if I had uniformly cut them I would have probably gotten at least 150. It was late and it hadn't cooled completely but it was midnight and this momma has to get up at 6am for work and Buckeroo for school, so I spooned them. <br />
<br />
Hope everyone's holiday is going amazing, mine is and I'm so excited about getting back to blogging this year. I'm been declining volunteer requests, offers, etc to make sure that there is time for my family and myself. At first it felt weird and completely uncomfortable, but now that I'm starting to have some reward for that weirdness and uncomfortableness it's nice and I will continue to do it, more on that later.<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />

<br />
Thank Goodness it is Friday! Although I don't know why I say that because the weekends around here are just as crazy. I guess at least it's one less crazy (work) to deal with. <br />
<br />
We had meet the teacher last night, and I just know that we are going to have a great year! I'm sad because I'm loosing my room-mom bestie - we've been together since kinder! But we're great friends outside that and PTO Board Members so I'll get to see her a lot anyways :) Cor's teachers seem very sweet, down to earth and gentle. I know that's a strange description but he is really sensitive and shuts down with gruff people, so my heart is soothed. <br />
<br />
We have our first scrimmage without coaches on the field football this weekend, so how I'm not sure that I will survive this weekend. We have to be at the field at 9:30am, the big opening day stuff from 10-12pm, game at 12:30pm and I then have concession duty at 2pm for a maximum of 2 hrs. If you're quick at math that equates to about a 7 hr day at the ball field, but I get my concessions over with.<br />
<br />
Cub Scouts is been crazy with all the stuff I have to do this year, but at least I have about a one to two week reprieve until leaders meeting. Which I am so very thankful for since I need to get Cor ready for school MONDAY! My sweet boy is a THIRD grader and they are changing classes this year - say what?! yes my baby is a) in THIRD grade and b) CHANGING classes!<br />
<br />
Operation Birthday 9.0 has suffered greatly this year, I am just NOW getting the invites done! We have two weeks till his party! I've never been so far behind, thank you sweet baby Jesus, that he wants a party at the local Incredible Pizza (although my budget doesn't think so, my sanity does). I have to make the cake, as I have always made his birthday cakes. Although in all seriousness he doesn't care one way or another, so that baby night get bought this year. It was totally different when he wanted to make the cake with me and we picked out all the décor togather. He's not into that so much anymore. With the package we chose I'm not doing party bags (each kid gets a $5 game card, a game of lazer tag and 1 hr of unlimited video game play, buffet and drink) plus I would imagine the mommas would be grateful to not get a bunch little toys. I'll be sure to post pictures when it happens.<br />
<br />
I've been so blessed with my PTO Board friends the end of last year and the beginnings so far this year. Things have been crazy and they love me anyways and let my craziness slide. I promise ladies I will get better and be there more often! Thank y'all from the bottom of my heart for being so understanding and loving.<br />
<br />
Today is the last day of summer for us (besides the weekend but I don't count that because we would be off anyways) and I'm wishing I had taken the day off to do something extra fun with my Cor. <br />
<br />
I hope everyone has a great day, weekend and beginning of school!<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />

<br />
How is everyone doing? Have your littles started back to school yet? My not-so-little little starts a week from TODAY! Say what?! When did summer even come much less go?!<br />
<br />
We've had a really nice summer to be truthful. Although with football our summer really ends the beginning of August as camp and practices start the second week. <br />
<br />
I meant to have this recap up Monday morning, but being the last week before school starts I have a dozen fires in the oven. I should be sewing hanger helpers, but I want to keep my streak going, lol!<br />
<br />
Without any more yacking here's what filled our week!<br />
<br />

My car is usually too nasty (yes nasty) for me to every want to post a picture. BUT this weekend I actually vacuumed it after cleaning it out for the Goodwill trip. I have no shame in saying that I will gladly pay my $35 to the car cleaning place, but I have a patience problem so I grabbed the shop vacuum, rag and cleaner. </div>

We had a girls night out, I can think of two I've had in my entire life, this was the second. We had dinner and closed the mall down! I used to be the 'shop till you drop' gal of my friends - but I have met my match, lol! I got some really nice stuff, Jeri has an amazing eye for fashion, and what fashion that looks good on people. <br />
We had our first real scrimmage against another league team this weekend. We had two actually, we won both. Cor plays both offense and defense, he's a beast, he got one sack on the quarterback, two recoveries and two stripping the ball. I don't know much about football to be honest, but I love our coaches. Yes, one I'm partial to, Jeff is the defense coach, but in all seriousness, our head coach has taught the boys how to play as a true team, to not compete with one another but to compete together against the opposing team.<br />

<br />
It seems that we are being pretty productive lately, and it's nice!!<br />
<br />
This past weekend, actually about three hours on Saturday afternoon, hubster built out closet shelves. <br />
<br />
For a while I've waffled with the idea of selling our present home and building from ground up to have a home that would work best for our family. Our current home is a two story home with the master bedroom downstairs and four bedrooms located upstairs. When we had first looked at the home and decided to purchase it, my Cor was six months old and we had dreams and plans to fill all these rooms up with kiddos. I'll post one day about that when I want to delve into major emotional stuff, but that ain't today sisters, lol! <br />
<br />
But Cor won't sleep upstairs by himself (no I'm not going to make him as I still go and have a sleepover at my momma and daddy's when Jeff is out of town and there ain't no shame in my game!). So we had made the formal living room into his downstairs bedroom, but then there wasn't any real room for a game room. So I told Jeff, we have to use the space to our advantage or sell and build. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my home, it's what I've always dreamed of having (well besides it not being old enough but that's another post), but the space was just all configured wrong for one story living which is what we were trying to do. <br />
<br />
So anyways, we decided to stay put and change some of the rooms functions. Our upstairs has one room that is considerably bigger than the others, we decided to make that the master bedroom. Yes, you heard me right, I lost my mind and made it so that we have to walk up the stairs at least twice a day, and we got some steep stairs. The closet is a bit weird, there are two, one has a bifold door and the other a regular door. I had Jeff hang another rod in the bifold closet so that we each had one rod a piece (if you're counting this is the SECOND time I lost my mind going from a walk in closet to one {ONE} rod). He then graciously <strike>got tired of hearing my nagging voice </strike>built out my shelves in my regular closet door. I'm really lucky, he is such a jack of all trades guy, and he normally doesn't mind all my "Come on babe, it'll be really easy!" pleas. So with out further ado:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_7-WAxSuvIus_b3SLF7zc7HjKoHrirJojul9TuauiDrn0Sb1dRZlOdL0aGHgOlNrjLaYu6V-f-KlmL-1DHUTPDWsIRHcfK3hhSZp822S7JqFQ0O41dIGT7wj5i3CO2x8rMa3WtUrvNR9S/s1600/mastercloset4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_7-WAxSuvIus_b3SLF7zc7HjKoHrirJojul9TuauiDrn0Sb1dRZlOdL0aGHgOlNrjLaYu6V-f-KlmL-1DHUTPDWsIRHcfK3hhSZp822S7JqFQ0O41dIGT7wj5i3CO2x8rMa3WtUrvNR9S/s1600/mastercloset4.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here's the before picture, it had one wire shelve across the top. We had already removed it for another closet redo in Buckaroo;s closet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRSBUeluSHpSnXNQ7wcGJoKfFR8FpvxxszeF8kVrBSdvJlKDiD3e6etgubBNLjWHTZLmqXsA82MCivADZTXXc1Ka9ZUv1Df4c1S-LV8Ca6KiY7laO1HDHu7qMCWRsAsJ3_2vPcmJnSX1wC/s1600/mastercloset3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRSBUeluSHpSnXNQ7wcGJoKfFR8FpvxxszeF8kVrBSdvJlKDiD3e6etgubBNLjWHTZLmqXsA82MCivADZTXXc1Ka9ZUv1Df4c1S-LV8Ca6KiY7laO1HDHu7qMCWRsAsJ3_2vPcmJnSX1wC/s1600/mastercloset3.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
We figured out how high we want the bottom shelve and then placed the other shelves from there. We decided on 20" from the bottom for boots to fit, and then 16" from then on. I'm going to be using it with baskets, shoe boxes, purses and jewelry containers. We went from having a five drawer chest of drawers each to three drawers in a dresser. We did purge but I have a lot of tank tops that I wear under my other shirts for modesty, these will all be placed here. Jeff screwed back and side supports of 2 x 4's for each shelf.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-6i7OrhJVWozggEBXhcqo-Xm20nx_wmuxgwyWpjwsSNOJ0JPqzjLCIAO4zXO-pswqouLMnozJsM9SVUz5sLj4KF1G1jgUieIy3GBbnXVr8xn30qUk3WQ1AcHGONexLPxq1fTvc6F5oZwt/s1600/mastercloset2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-6i7OrhJVWozggEBXhcqo-Xm20nx_wmuxgwyWpjwsSNOJ0JPqzjLCIAO4zXO-pswqouLMnozJsM9SVUz5sLj4KF1G1jgUieIy3GBbnXVr8xn30qUk3WQ1AcHGONexLPxq1fTvc6F5oZwt/s1600/mastercloset2.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes this is the top but it was the best angle for pictures. I always have Jeff add a shelve in every closet above what they have. I love how older and European homes have closet usage all the way to the ceiling, it's a great use of previously wasted space. This top shelf will be used for the keepsakes really, since they will seldom be brought down.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_O2__5qrm0f84xJ-Ro7MU5uAyZv1VzIUiX1I52SrQvNlCd1UhD0y4IQ9okFuhnL6Dmdlgzk2UqkiamNvgkOPRXzpbIPDHf9yddfKTg5PD2ZHe0QiwfFJMK-6jO_wK-fqcBpwISQTNwJRJ/s1600/mastercloset.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_O2__5qrm0f84xJ-Ro7MU5uAyZv1VzIUiX1I52SrQvNlCd1UhD0y4IQ9okFuhnL6Dmdlgzk2UqkiamNvgkOPRXzpbIPDHf9yddfKTg5PD2ZHe0QiwfFJMK-6jO_wK-fqcBpwISQTNwJRJ/s1600/mastercloset.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="center">
He then ripped the 1/2" plywood to 12" wide pieces, then cut them at 35" in length, and screwed them down. He said 1/2" plywood would be fine for strength since it was such a short span across. You can see the shelf and how high it is compared to the door jam.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIqDGg9JgAwHfKwwAbEIJu-sqZsX9HwtS_-j8xbmRToMSMfRtqYauLGJ2xqK54rwq_od9McaLqF-ONjwIAGb4auRf3RgqbuA65eSI7eKcj7SqUJcZCCG1p5wVJr0grQK7sIbKspnEsdNv5/s1600/mastercloset5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIqDGg9JgAwHfKwwAbEIJu-sqZsX9HwtS_-j8xbmRToMSMfRtqYauLGJ2xqK54rwq_od9McaLqF-ONjwIAGb4auRf3RgqbuA65eSI7eKcj7SqUJcZCCG1p5wVJr0grQK7sIbKspnEsdNv5/s1600/mastercloset5.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
Here is the finished product! Yes it needs paint but we didn't have any white paint and it needs bright white since there is not a light in the closet. Honestly though I will roll with it like this for a year (<span style="font-size: x-small;">ok fine yes probably a couple years).</span> I've been thinking of adding one of those LED click on lights. Have you used one? Is it worth the money?</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">

<br />
An issue that I've come across when I use my hand towels is that I have to leave them folded up on the counter. While it is not a huge ordeal I just really like clean counter tops. My stove has a cute embroidered one that one of my best friends made for me that hangs on the oven handle.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I thought about it and thought if I could have a tab on them it would be perfect for the hooks that I already have hanging. I looked at Joanne's for something that would have a snap but couldn't find anything, so I made my own out of ribbon.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First choose ribbon that fits your colors and décor, cut it long enough to loop it.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS7V5ha2P5gNDy2y4_mZ6dl78V0ElYyHmyk7nv1MmPaFpoitUEb-Q9TbPdg0QpzU2gkdSCq2Sl2h75eM_XIR_1FOBEjO544TO0KMnH7IuFlzRwVziYMp3Bjh5VZNMe3MVihqNsSERjnlat/s1600/handtowels6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS7V5ha2P5gNDy2y4_mZ6dl78V0ElYyHmyk7nv1MmPaFpoitUEb-Q9TbPdg0QpzU2gkdSCq2Sl2h75eM_XIR_1FOBEjO544TO0KMnH7IuFlzRwVziYMp3Bjh5VZNMe3MVihqNsSERjnlat/s1600/handtowels6.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">(Yes, I'm a total retro babe and have had these colors for about 3 years.)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I then tacked each loop before sewing it on the hand towel, it was much easier to work with.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2wumCwCnpOL8bKBZJsxnCfKKvIsKZARizdqYEJOoaQAXtlA44vdezo0zWDIJGXU2otPt0Az9HvzmHSFxR7FThPaF4TOoVNbgvUr4vBpLG69L2XerhFDIJmiQP5av-IT5bRiojsmdhPbA/s1600/handtowels3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2wumCwCnpOL8bKBZJsxnCfKKvIsKZARizdqYEJOoaQAXtlA44vdezo0zWDIJGXU2otPt0Az9HvzmHSFxR7FThPaF4TOoVNbgvUr4vBpLG69L2XerhFDIJmiQP5av-IT5bRiojsmdhPbA/s1600/handtowels3.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Make sure that you trim the ends so that they look nice and neat.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0UlbDNYU14Bw_RIHFJ0yhm8M8C2wOrKAkjvR6Q9e1nE6oBZvroAs3mooadnHLOIQTplN1_-uQk5lgGdPpL3nuV4tpjhmU1GAU1Ny5wLl17nqK_nfbrtmgIcDNlzUjW_KL1uHyTCMi9CAj/s1600/handtowels4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0UlbDNYU14Bw_RIHFJ0yhm8M8C2wOrKAkjvR6Q9e1nE6oBZvroAs3mooadnHLOIQTplN1_-uQk5lgGdPpL3nuV4tpjhmU1GAU1Ny5wLl17nqK_nfbrtmgIcDNlzUjW_KL1uHyTCMi9CAj/s1600/handtowels4.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After you tack the ribbon and trim the ends, sew the tab to the middle of the side of the towel (I did this so the towel wouldn't dust the ground). One piece of advice make sure you put the tab on the correct side (the under side) so that the ribbon shows correctly and all the sewing lines on the tab.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiycj1tG4A02jVuV2h2SVLecYsbqo-TnEeDQiDISUcf0itpMvjckdLk7FuFIbkrLdsFJwd-aXr1FP7UwPbPX-lqrDwagxdvzPu013DrO8StQcbElvgx9bfyJqJOQA-XhqysIXHKtwWOqWrV/s1600/handtowels2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiycj1tG4A02jVuV2h2SVLecYsbqo-TnEeDQiDISUcf0itpMvjckdLk7FuFIbkrLdsFJwd-aXr1FP7UwPbPX-lqrDwagxdvzPu013DrO8StQcbElvgx9bfyJqJOQA-XhqysIXHKtwWOqWrV/s1600/handtowels2.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a picture with the tab done correctly.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMUL0_L942kUKTDzNVD9CQHbcaV9kKHLt40bkRZjGWLnX09AYCN69XoTfMu9BhG03Q5CzYlLM_s9fhCAYHz_m_NpAEZg0LEAU6dugMoYymewXKxmKV19Xp_R1mJ3VkpZi13KCOHkmqHL8F/s1600/handtowels.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMUL0_L942kUKTDzNVD9CQHbcaV9kKHLt40bkRZjGWLnX09AYCN69XoTfMu9BhG03Q5CzYlLM_s9fhCAYHz_m_NpAEZg0LEAU6dugMoYymewXKxmKV19Xp_R1mJ3VkpZi13KCOHkmqHL8F/s1600/handtowels.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The finished product! It took me probably 20 mins to do my six hand towels. The only thing I would do differently is to do these tabs sooner and make sure the ribbon was facing correctly. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
Let me know what you think!</div>

<br />
How were things last week and weekend? I hope this week is even better!<br />
<br />
Here are some pictures to show what our week and projects consisted of.<br />

<br />
How is everyone doing? I hope y'all enjoyed my being real post over at Danielle's, I enjoyed writing it and being real for like minded people. It was refreshing.<br />
<br />
So in being real, I have to confess I have no memory, zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing. It's been hard for me since before I was pregnant I could recall anything it could be the most insignificant detail from five years beforehand and I could recall it. It's.....insane, and I mean that seriously, it was driving me insane. So I went to a neurologist just to make sure I didn't have early onset dimentia as it runs in our family. Her and my regular doctor said the same thing after running tests, you are too busy and too much on your mind. Their remedy was for me to cut back on things and obligations, but y'all know that wasn't going to happen. So I decided to quit obsessing about my missing memory and decided to do brain dumps into my planner.<br />
<br />
Except one thing, I could never find a planner I really liked or worked well for me. There was always something. I really didn't want another thing to carry around , so I tried all the electronic planners. Well, that just doesn't work for a non technical person like myself, as much as I would love to be able to understand technology I just can't. <br />
<br />
The paper planners were too small, too big, not enough room for notes, etc. I didn't want to carry a book for a planner, a book for notes, one for church, one for PTO, one for Cub Scouts, one for football, etc etc etc. So I came across this wonderful <a href="http://www.freehomeschooldeals.com/cheapest-homeschool-planner-will-ever-love/" target="_blank">post</a> over at Jammerill Stewart's <a href="http://www.freehomeschooldeals.com/" target="_blank">"Free HomeSchool Deals"</a>, so I'm not going to go over the 'how-to' since she did an amazing job just my details.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiEICUMj4zGjzaiNjvSorLEWWC5CYaCKR0KuBOZwTNSF66A2oo6GNWwJA4MbOtCuwaBADGCWnIlwBHl0zF89Fy5DKWIBBAkVr9-JO2cns2d0qeORGJZ9YCtJBw9EbYcd8qvQkV7mPGzBHq/s1600/planner.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiEICUMj4zGjzaiNjvSorLEWWC5CYaCKR0KuBOZwTNSF66A2oo6GNWwJA4MbOtCuwaBADGCWnIlwBHl0zF89Fy5DKWIBBAkVr9-JO2cns2d0qeORGJZ9YCtJBw9EbYcd8qvQkV7mPGzBHq/s1600/planner.JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the almost finished project. When I was in <a href="http://www.mops.org/" target="_blank">MOP</a>S (a GREAT organization if you have preschoolers) we did the same thing except we used it only for a notebook. We had a clasp for it but I can't remember how it was done, and mine has long since been used up and disposed of.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDET9KvQ82LnHXUekAaQGdrLIH63J3UlkMx_oU9d0PoYadKSBrUcHt853qi-NprmapUSg0iSqXNaTLDqg0d5JEydylnzV-tLlq6XJb2gunfR6zyfK1HdRLlLxLQbvkMKaSkGKEFwpO36kH/s1600/planner5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDET9KvQ82LnHXUekAaQGdrLIH63J3UlkMx_oU9d0PoYadKSBrUcHt853qi-NprmapUSg0iSqXNaTLDqg0d5JEydylnzV-tLlq6XJb2gunfR6zyfK1HdRLlLxLQbvkMKaSkGKEFwpO36kH/s1600/planner5.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is some personalization I did for mine. I probably didn't need to cover the inside since I will most likely have it covered with pictures but I love a pretty background. On the front page I glued a pretty background (see?) and I'm writing my favorite or meaningful to me quotes. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpshPhDKU_5Ps2liylinubI3f6xwYQzf6mG3FxvNfokxWk1PM0FZoMGCd5h-eKnuAuwH4AQk15Nao4ipGXG8RLr1PzCvEjvS0n0RDzSxOCdX3ES1EzIXQDrE41LsIj-nvhjCdOMFES25hf/s1600/planner1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpshPhDKU_5Ps2liylinubI3f6xwYQzf6mG3FxvNfokxWk1PM0FZoMGCd5h-eKnuAuwH4AQk15Nao4ipGXG8RLr1PzCvEjvS0n0RDzSxOCdX3ES1EzIXQDrE41LsIj-nvhjCdOMFES25hf/s1600/planner1.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I love how the squares are big enough to see at a glace and still have room to write stuff if multiple things are going on one day. I didn't use a page for a weekly break down as I just needed more of a monthly calendar and a place for notes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh16t_-sqWydV6qiTtlapcy39hmI4jHGdc-qzcG0A38FJKuEb4fNY0k7R4RRqpPjMtIIsmPyk4yappbGk1zLf_ahjHjXd5HWY-Tnsnuz4NriwJJ_IU6aVWoul5nbGVkf2fGe2DpPldUHMiu/s1600/planner2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh16t_-sqWydV6qiTtlapcy39hmI4jHGdc-qzcG0A38FJKuEb4fNY0k7R4RRqpPjMtIIsmPyk4yappbGk1zLf_ahjHjXd5HWY-Tnsnuz4NriwJJ_IU6aVWoul5nbGVkf2fGe2DpPldUHMiu/s1600/planner2.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Since I don't homeschool I changed mine up to fit me and my lifestyle. I need a place to dump EVERYTHING, yet have some organization to it. My only regret is not leaving another empty page after the above breakdown page for room in case of a meeting or whatever comes up. But I will just add some tabs to the back with PTO Board, Cub Scouts, Football, Work, Blog, Church, ETC and use that as my more in depth note needs.<br />
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
(Funny side note can you see where I was working on this blog post above?) </div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So tell what you think? Also do you have any other ideas? I'm always open for anything to help me remember stuff, be more organized, etc?</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Much Luv,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Michelle</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>

<br />
Guess what?? I'm going to be posting over at Danielle's<a href="http://www.blissfulanddomestic.com/" target="_blank"> Blissful and Domestic</a> this Sunday, August 3 at 1 pm.<br />
<br />
I am so excited about being there, I luv luv luv Danielle and her blog, if you haven't checked it out you really should. She posts great ideas and ones that we can really use to stretch your budget. This is a serious called "A Day in the Life of Her" it's a volunteer posting series, but it spoke directly to my heart when she asked for guests and what the series would be. It's about how we aren't Supermom/wife/employee (whatever just fill in the blank) and that it is OK. Actually it's more than ok, it's truthful, pull the layers back, rip the bandaid off truthful. <br />
<br />
I've been calling it "Keeping It Real" photo drops on my Facebook. It's so nice to strip away the pretenses. So come on over and read my post on Sunday, and see my 'behind the scenes' life.<br />
<br />
Much Luv!<br />
Michellemwimphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05398705619781640977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4485108980232883837.post-6777136458876031932014-07-14T09:16:00.001-06:002014-07-14T09:16:22.299-06:00Yes our blood is blue but not for the reasons you think...Hey Friends!<br />
<br />
As you know we are trying to do little projects here and there to do finishing details on rooms (I say that tongue in cheek because I am NEVA finished!). So you know we moved the master upstairs right {if not, we did, I'll do a post on that later, ahem}? Well now boy child, better known as Buckaroo, will sleep upstairs {no I don't blame him I wouldn't want to sleep up there by myself either, just saying}. But we needed décor, come in posters from many, M-A-N-Y book fairs at school, and Hob Lob's famous 50% off sale for the poster frames (yes I must have frames for posters - it stems from child hood my momma wouldn't let us tack up posters with push pins too many holes in the wall and tape ruins the paint). Plus they just look nicer and feel more important. Anywho, Buckaroo's room has two windows, one normal and one well not so normal. I already had the curtain material just no confidence to make them. I have a friend that is a wonderful seamstress that can rework or make anything, enter Bonnie and her trusty side kick, her machine. <br />
<br />
Here are the results:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu3E_Ad6gaFOVrfW9kY9FvF02mCsNgBDzhpqXn3kxzz0C5Fso3kgQqDyyZ5Z2QdZfU7BwZW-BqIM_A1i0xv66lZHoeo7HWyLUgWrdJdg-ABaZkNkRDNvYlFELmtSqqWZcsagtgkcsFEPNQ/s1600/cor+curtains+after.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu3E_Ad6gaFOVrfW9kY9FvF02mCsNgBDzhpqXn3kxzz0C5Fso3kgQqDyyZ5Z2QdZfU7BwZW-BqIM_A1i0xv66lZHoeo7HWyLUgWrdJdg-ABaZkNkRDNvYlFELmtSqqWZcsagtgkcsFEPNQ/s1600/cor+curtains+after.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Here are the bare windows (although I did have a sheet hanging up before privacy, because a) that's how this momma rolls and b) it looked better than aluminum foil {yes, I DID just say that}) before:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3tRJo1YGyyUeyjNLlkfP6S6pBG9-Ka1f9UKciY2nNDD9-YZJkeQ0RQkhXK2oVgeDyy8mERpmMWd47l0KhnXXgaV0KnGIsDOMBgpdDSpn58z3qRMKeisfhfAZFI0raR_pFn0dCjYtxKGOf/s1600/cor+curtain+b.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3tRJo1YGyyUeyjNLlkfP6S6pBG9-Ka1f9UKciY2nNDD9-YZJkeQ0RQkhXK2oVgeDyy8mERpmMWd47l0KhnXXgaV0KnGIsDOMBgpdDSpn58z3qRMKeisfhfAZFI0raR_pFn0dCjYtxKGOf/s1600/cor+curtain+b.JPG" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
One thing I can't stand is to look in from a window and see unfinished looking curtains (yes I have lots of issues, ha!) so almost all my curtains are custom made double lined. Buckaroo's are no different:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLft-i3JTRXc8tMC7yYUBH_VDWe_Topx4QmAONJD8EaLjCn6y5mh61NzJkYZV0PYnGKRZsvt48i_UEDQGltseUJVzC9kbxMZfy68GhNPelbpnnd_kjIvXb68al1fZ9W_dRveGHNbstBPCK/s1600/cor+curtains+a.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLft-i3JTRXc8tMC7yYUBH_VDWe_Topx4QmAONJD8EaLjCn6y5mh61NzJkYZV0PYnGKRZsvt48i_UEDQGltseUJVzC9kbxMZfy68GhNPelbpnnd_kjIvXb68al1fZ9W_dRveGHNbstBPCK/s1600/cor+curtains+a.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now, in reference to the post title, we at this home (as much as this momma who only watches sophomore league football because Buckaroo is playing) have Cowboys blue running through our veins. My mom in law started Hubster on it the minute he was brought home.<br />
<br />
I have lots more in store for y'all, but we are going on vacation this week so I'm not promising anything but most likely I will have at least one more post this week. <br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />
Michellemwimphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05398705619781640977noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4485108980232883837.post-7456402770647655422014-07-10T09:11:00.001-06:002014-07-10T09:11:04.594-06:00Hey Y'all!! I'm still here and kicking.hey yall!! I know I know I don't know why I do this to myself. I take a gazillion pictures to make a post later on but never get to it! So here is a really quick one.<br />
<br />
We've been doing some little and BIG projects around the house and here is one:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBKT2wKyu2SSTyHmqCst3njvRBlZEpRcx0CDFUnJOc08iP-l7V5nXRJOTFv9Zgs1xd3YHUJjyx3RDvhrhq0ZONnQYP-xzrpJaxwvPBdrBBxpSNuEn8A0IqNhqbq_xdmBCYyqTrvDWxCJ13/s1600/nook+before+single.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBKT2wKyu2SSTyHmqCst3njvRBlZEpRcx0CDFUnJOc08iP-l7V5nXRJOTFv9Zgs1xd3YHUJjyx3RDvhrhq0ZONnQYP-xzrpJaxwvPBdrBBxpSNuEn8A0IqNhqbq_xdmBCYyqTrvDWxCJ13/s1600/nook+before+single.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Ok so this is the before pix - yes we had the same blinds in the big window I just didn't think about a pix until after we had it down. Hubster wouldn't rehang it for me for photo ops, wonder why?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1zUB_kEvU7TdkjT5mKQJ0AQ3H1492EiDpCax_eUD8kN7smlL1KYdG-K3o3IcBpAUcY9fqNLp7uDAUCMu4-uhzP0Y_BX6VLrs_0uFn2etq9Thyphenhyphen9KCG4EuXAFPqM0uhM_Y82hYEPwPsnJb_/s1600/nook+after+single.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1zUB_kEvU7TdkjT5mKQJ0AQ3H1492EiDpCax_eUD8kN7smlL1KYdG-K3o3IcBpAUcY9fqNLp7uDAUCMu4-uhzP0Y_BX6VLrs_0uFn2etq9Thyphenhyphen9KCG4EuXAFPqM0uhM_Y82hYEPwPsnJb_/s1600/nook+after+single.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is the after. I really wanted the curtains to be mounted INSIDE the windows but I could find rods that would work as the tension ones are too heavy for the length I needed for the big window. but later when trim out the windows with wood (I do NOT like bullnose edging - UGH!) hubby said he could just flatten the mounting brackets out with his vice (YAY for jack of all trades hubbies!). But I'm still in TOTAL love with them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1O_Ny3BA3fbis7i1VEUOHIhX2O8oSwLVnJkblsnFlYwalE-E_hLmGDg251Ie4wimefOAS1XEWffNsCIhrN0y2ht7SMelCM_XupDacdb4-4SWfivtUQBJlOVmNhJBJdPAgHFuMIiRD2WYJ/s1600/outside+nook.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1O_Ny3BA3fbis7i1VEUOHIhX2O8oSwLVnJkblsnFlYwalE-E_hLmGDg251Ie4wimefOAS1XEWffNsCIhrN0y2ht7SMelCM_XupDacdb4-4SWfivtUQBJlOVmNhJBJdPAgHFuMIiRD2WYJ/s1600/outside+nook.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is the view as you walk up our driveway. Y'all the reason I choose this house is because of the farmhouse style of it. This is just exactly what I pictured in my head 8 years ago when we bought this place. I have some wild flower seed pads I'm going to plant this weekend in the kitchen window area (the space behind where the tree is).<br />
<br />
I need to find a group of friends that want to publish posts but only about one or two a week so we all take turns posting (5 days a week 5 people) and still feel like we have time for our families! Any takers? Yes, I am being serious, let me know.<br />
<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />
Shell<br />
<br />
PS. Yes that is a library chair on my front porch that has been there since we roadside rescued it (for FREE!) a couple months ago. I'm gonna make it over for hubby but haven't gotten to it. Maybe this weekend we have freeway closures EVERYWHERE for our big Grand Parkway coming in.<br />
mwimphttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05398705619781640977noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4485108980232883837.post-80497946967239346912013-10-31T16:33:00.002-06:002013-10-31T16:33:16.325-06:00This is Me October EditionHey All!<br />
<br />
Ms. Amie over at <a href="http://whilewearingheels.blogspot.com/2013/10/this-is-me-link-party.html" target="_blank">While Wearing Heels</a> is having her monthly get in the pix link up. This month was a little different as it was about our cloths, and how they say a lot about who WE are. I kept forgetting to take my picture, I was going to take it in Cor's football team shirt. But I'm really glad I kept forgetting, my shirts for the PTO board came in and it sums up me more truly. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFA3yC2OYvE8QxvEb0TBSG4KsYj2s03Tm7YDJGkkCNgGKvvIxqZijwH6G03byrgia3sVbNAk5OK-ZXG92sBMA4e_6HYLPUDRkVv6c66zOpoQjUqdVb_sCcAuWIzV2_pF2LdNeMv-EAtir_/s1600/i+volunteer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFA3yC2OYvE8QxvEb0TBSG4KsYj2s03Tm7YDJGkkCNgGKvvIxqZijwH6G03byrgia3sVbNAk5OK-ZXG92sBMA4e_6HYLPUDRkVv6c66zOpoQjUqdVb_sCcAuWIzV2_pF2LdNeMv-EAtir_/s320/i+volunteer.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know its backwards but I had no one here but me. It reads, "I volunteer, what's your superpower?" with our school district mascot's paw print (we're the Wildcats). Our elementary's theme this year is super hero kids hence the super power. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I absolutely LOVE being a momma and everything that goes with being a momma. Volunteering, parties, room mom, church helper, watching practices, etc, along with all that comes a lot of volunteering and I truly truly do love it. I love that I am known as Cordell's momma. Plus it was blingy, bahahaha.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But in all seriousness, I feel a need and duty to volunteer, if we all help a bit it makes a huge difference, plus many hands make like work. Think about volunteering - anywhere, any amount of time, for any cause.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Much Luv,</div>

<br />
Sorry this post is a wee bit hate, but y'all know me and how this caddy girl rolls...<br />
<br />
Anywho Operation Birthday 8.0 has commenced (for about two weeks now - I don't the year I've been thinking about it in my head). This year Buckaroo choose Nascar, surprisingly it wasn't Duck Dynasty, more because I think I told him "No more changing your mind, pick a theme and stick to it. Momma needs prep time son" and all the DD theme stuff wasn't out when he choose. Next year I KNOW what will be the them, haha!<br />
<br />
Of course it will be City Mouse and City Mouse's wives house, more affectionately known around here as Papa & Gma. I call them city mouse because of the children's book City Mouse and Country Mouse, although they live in the country. We will once again have a swim party, yay for grandparents with swimming pools. He's loves cars, especially race cars which led to his theme choice Nascar. <br />
<br />
I've bought the goody bag stuff, which really has NOTHING to do with Nascar, but he liked the stuff so yep, it's what we bought. This year momma bear is getting all fancied up, and the main playing theme throughout will be the checkered flag, the green finish flag and the number 8. The goody bag "pit stop" will have 8 parts. All parts will have a checkered flag numbered 1-8 with 8 being the green finish flag showing them what to do. Station one will be getting the bag, there will be six goody bag fillers stops, and the eighth station will be for them to sticker their bag shut and write their name on the bag.<br />
<br />
The food layout will be the same as above except it will be known as "filling station." Station one will be plates, buns will be station 2, condiments are station 3, hotdogs will be station 4, chili is station 5, toppings are station 6, chips are station 7 and drinks are station 8.<br />
<br />
The cake will be made by yours truly, I have always baked every birthday cake Buckaroo has every wanted for his birthday. This year he wasn't the Nascar race track, a lot of work but absolutely worth every moment. On the cake table I want seven different sweets but I can only think of 3, to include the cake. I'm going to have chocolate donuts labeled "Black walls" and powdered donuts labeled "white walls". I thought about something round, maybe gumballs or something, and labeling them "ball bearings".I need a nifty name for the cake and some other sweet stuff. I need a nifty name for the sweet table too! <br />
<br />
I've thought about getting some tire floats BUT I worry about that since there will be a large number of kids in the pool. I worry that it will be more trouble and stuff for them to horseplay with. So I will more than likely NOT go with them.<br />
<br />
I've also thought about having eight different 'locations' for the event, but I cant think of any. I was thinking gift table #1, goody bag table #2, cake #3, food#4, eating area #5, swimming pool #6, playground #7. I've gone completely BLANK for an eighth!! If you have ideas PLEASE share them!<br />
<br />
Did I mention the party is THIS Saturday, and it's his actual birthday!!<br />
<br />
Please send me your ideas!!<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />

<br />
So our 1st day back was great! He really likes his teacher, and he was really excited that they played games "that helped us know each other!" <br />
<br />
His most excited moment was when he told me that since they are older they get to sit with anyone they want to on Fridays at lunch. He was so happy as his best buddy is in a different class than him, as well as his cub scout mates and friends that we still have 'friend time" (aka play dates BUT he informed me about a year ago that he was too old for playdates) with outside of school since they haven't been in class togather in two years!! We (the other momma and grandma and I) would call them the three musketeers, where one was they all were! <br />
<br />
He was a grumpy guss by the end of the day and thus allowed no photos. I can't really blame him, he's up at 7, at school by 8, learning at 8:30, end of school at 4, pick up at 4:15, home at 4:30, ready for football practice at 5, leave for practice at 5:30, actual practice from 6-8, home at 8:20ish, dinner at 8:30 (he refuses to eat before practice and I don't blame him), bath at 9, bed at 9:30. We're trying to fine tune and shave time off somewhere so we can have bed at 9, he's used to being in bed at 8:30. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, competitive sports are grueling!! <br />
<br />
But all in all he had a really great first day! I hope everyone else did too!!<br />

<br />
Hope today is a great one for you! It's our first day back to school here, how about y'all?<br />
<br />
This morning I woke up wondering how the heck did my sweet baby frogboy become a 2nd grader?! I mean seriously I know it's cliché, but seriously it is going to fast, in 6 days he'll be 8. I suppose I should just be grateful that we decided to hold him back a year because his birthday is so late or I would be here saying the same thing except it would be 3rd grade!!<br />
<br />
He was nervous, just like momma and daddy, new things are hard for him. Yes it's the same school, he has some of the same kids, but his best buddy isn't in his class this year and we've been out for two months. <br />
<br />
So we took crazy pictures, good pictures and "so us" pictures. We talked about how I knew it was hard, nervous and scary but it WILL get better, soon it will all be gravy.<br />
<br />
So here's some pictures from the first day of second grade.<br />
<br />

Sweet boy, I just want you to know that Daddy and Momma are so very happy, proud and grateful that we were given you by God to be our sweet baby and to raise. Everything you do brings us joy, while I am sad that the years seem to go to fast I am grateful that they do as that is what you are made for and you give meaning to my life. Thank you for being you and allowing me to be your momma.</div>

<br />
So to continue on with "What I Learned" I want to talk about something that has been weighing on my heart a lot since my last post.<br />
<br />
I also learned it's ok to be 'weak' and to show it. I think part of being strong is knowing how to acknowledge that weakness. I don't ever want anyone to read that post and be discouraged that they have 'weak' moments, or even weeks, and think they are "wrong". <br />
<br />
Friends, I have weak moments, a lot of them. One thing I learned for MYSELF is that I can't let it overwhelm and consume me. Sometimes the littlest of things will get me, some days is the 15 passenger van that I see on the road and it triggers a flood of tears. We talked about getting one of those as we had full intentions of adopting at minimum five kiddos, even more if they ended up with siblings down the road. Sometimes it's just the complete silence of the house when Buckaroo and Papa Bear isn't at home. And others is just the thought of them. <br />
<br />
My point is that it is absolutely 100% OKAY to be 'weak' and have those moments.<br />
<br />
If you notice every time I use the word weak its got those marks, because in all honesty, I don't think it is being weak. I think it takes a strong person to acknowledge those feelings, work through them, ask for help and to show those feelings.<br />
<br />
This is coming from a person that did NOT cry in front of people when I was hurt or hurting. I would sometimes cry when I would be angry, but never when I was hurting, either physically or emotionally. I have no idea why, I just didn't want people to know my 'weak points' and use them against me. <br />
<br />
I've learned in admitting my "weakness" I *am* stronger.<br />
<br />
Much Luv,<br />
Michelle<br />

<br />
We've been wanting to do some stuff around the house and well that takes moolah. Every time I go to a store, thrift or regular (ugh!), I think 'oh, this could get me 1/4 piece of plywood'. Most of the time this leads to me putting a ton of things back, LOL! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhShFxe2cgztu9SxAhe5kutPuPXcct80eTBR4L5BUr87yVpBI2ZzH2-HT49toeay1alLgzX-tw_zN0ZIWiC68AxHrhaouf6ueDKXDXycqVx25_AwoyA8i1H6Be7TlpIkprLImOEcC5rxRaH/s1600/gw082113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhShFxe2cgztu9SxAhe5kutPuPXcct80eTBR4L5BUr87yVpBI2ZzH2-HT49toeay1alLgzX-tw_zN0ZIWiC68AxHrhaouf6ueDKXDXycqVx25_AwoyA8i1H6Be7TlpIkprLImOEcC5rxRaH/s1600/gw082113.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is seriously all that I purchased for 1.5 months!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now, I know my kid needs another book like I need more jewels, but I also think of books like I think of jewels - One can NEVER NEVER N-E-V-A have enough! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Buckaroo loves Santa Paws series so I snatch them up whenever I see them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The Berenstein Bears is another favorite and it was the Bear Scout series and since Buckaroo is a cub scout it's a two-fer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The NatGeo book is about traveling in Australia, he has a wide palate for books. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The last and greatest is Flyguy - if you have a younger kid you know how much they love Flyguy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
All of the books were just $.99, which is higher than normal (usually paperbacks are $.49-$.79) but still much better full price. The Flyguy book was also $.99, but it was hardback, hence I think someone just didn't wanna change out their pricing gun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The little nightlight is a Christmas themed gingerbread house, it was $.99 and worked. I've looked at similar ones before and they run $10-$25, depending on the maker and how intricate. Well this momma don't pay that for a regular light fixture much less a NIGHTLIGHT! I was really happy when I found this and I could actually check it since it had a working bulb. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now I have to really control myself, but I REALLY want shelves in my lower kitchen cabinets. I'm tired of having a cavernous hole where things must be stacked precisely to all fit.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You have to check out my sweet blogger turned real life great friend<a href="http://whilewearingheels.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"> Amy at While Wearing Heels</a> and see her *AH MAY ZING* trench coat she got for $2.50!! I swear I told her that she is lucky I don't live close to her cuz she would be missing some clothes and coats! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Much Luv,</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
i *AM* strong</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I learned I am stronger than my fears. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I had so many fears placed in front of me and not only did I over come them I rocked them to next Sunday!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I drove the scary medical center and interchanges BY MYSELF (Amy can you believe it?!), which I get hives just riding usually.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I took care of a medically fragile child, I used to be 'that mom' the doctor's office talks about.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I realized that I can make the hardest decision of my life, and still be OK (this was an us decision but you get what I mean).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I let go of dreams that I'd had since I was a little girl, and reshaped them and realized I will survive.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I realized that it's ok if my child doesn't like me, I'm his parent first. I worried so much that his disappoint and dislike of me was going to scar him. I realized and embraced the fact that his dislike for me will be momentary, but his lesson learned will be a lifetime.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I found out the old saying 'what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger' is 100% true and accurate. One day the sun will have little peaks of rays coming through your haze and you will feel the fog lifting. At that very moment you will realize that saying is true.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I let go and let God, this doesn't seem like much but for a type A personality that plans EVERY LITTLE THING DOWN TO A T it's huge, like H-U-G-E huge. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope the one thing you take away from this post, is that you are so so so so much stronger than you realize and give yourself credit for. Tap into that now, know it and embrace it. For me, this strongness that I know I am capable of IS my new way of life.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Much luv,</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Michelle</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
